Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and overseeing the Mechanical discipline within the National Test House.
• Reviewing and scrutinizing test requests and forwarding letters.
• Assigning scientific tasks and sample testing responsibilities to the Scientific Officer and Scientific Assistant.
• Supervising and resolving technical and administrative issues related to the department.
• Verifying draft test certificates and providing final approval by signing them.
• Overseeing procurement activities, including initiating purchase cases.
• Assisting Scientist ‘C’ in technical, procurement, and administrative matters.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years (Only for candidates belonging to the ST category)

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following:

Option 1:

• Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University/Institute.
• At least one year of practical experience in the testing/calibration of engineering materials/products or in precision measurement/metrology in a recognized laboratory/institute.

OR

Option 2:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. or B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• A minimum of two years of practical experience in the testing/calibration of engineering materials/products or in precision measurement/metrology in a recognized laboratory/institute.

Desirable Qualifications

• Research & Development experience in testing of engineering materials and metrology/calibration of instruments and machines.
